ChargeMaster Institute (CMI) offers the only CDM management training program that includes lecture, hands on application of theories, and a complete review of your facility CDM by our staff. Our goal is your self-sufficiency!

Since our inception we have had over 170+ facilities attend our program, sending more than 850 attendees. Our staff has reviewed in excess of 4.1 million lines of chargemaster data! CMI programs have been held across the United States and have been extremely well received.

Given the ever changing regulatory environment and increased scrutiny by payers and regulators, efficient, accurate management of your facility CDM is a core competency necessary to your organization’s revenue cycle and compliance efforts. What We Do

The ChargeMaster Institute seeks to improve your CDM management and compliance through comprehensive education and training modules that encompass a review of your organization's CDM. We provide information focused on real front-line challenges and ongoing access to the Institute's expert faculty and staff.

The educational training topics include: rules and regulations that affect what you can and cannot charge, coding information (Revenue Codes, CPT Codes, HCPCS Codes, and Modifiers), CCI edits, coordination with your patient financial system abilities and limitations, policies and procedures affecting the CDM, strategies for getting the most out of your facility contracts, the role of the CDM to your Medicare Cost Report and identification of compliance issues that can be affected by incorrect CDM’s or incorrect use of your CDM.

CMI offers a unique approach to the traditional CDM review process in that it designed so that the knowledge remains within your facility. Many organizations will spend three to five times the price of the ChargeMaster Institute without retention of CDM maintenance skills or ongoing professional support. A partnership with the ChargeMaster Institute will break the cycle of episodic CDM consultant reviews and allow your organization to implement concurrent management practices that work.

CMI also offers a more traditional consulting and review approach for those organizations that do not have or do not wish to create a dedicated CDM position.
