The allotment of funding for Medicaid benefits for qualifying individuals through September 30, 2009, has been increased. Under current law, certain low-income individuals who are aged or have disabilities, and who are eligible for Medicare are also eligible to have their Medicare Part B premiums paid for by Medicaid under the Medicare Savings Program. Eligible groups include qualified medicare beneficiaries, specified low-income medicare beneficiaries, and qualifying individuals (QI-1s). “QI Program Supplemental Funding Act of 2008” PubLNo 110-379, Oct. 8, 2008 ¶52,437.
